FAQ

Why should we have a plan when we respond to individual emergencies?
Critical incident stress is the leading cause of employee or volunteer loss, poor work habits, lowered morale and loss of vision and mission of your staff. Without the ability to educate your emergency responders on critical incident stress, it will cost the average department $15,000 to $50,00 to replace that lost member or employee. You simply can't afford that.

Frankly stated, critical incident stress is real, and will affect everyone. It's up to you to get the needed training and management in place to retain and maintain your staff.

What does it cost to start?
With a program generally starting around $350, you can have a CISM pre-education class at your agency and establish the start of a curriculum.

While there are many facets to a complete CISM program, simply starting with a pre-education program can begin to prepare your responders to become more CISM-smart and begin to better understand what critical incident stress is and how to be a thriver of it.
